Moist Chocolate Cake

Moist Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup sour milk
  • 1 egg beaten in with the milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup white sugar

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 F (180C).

2. With an electric mixer whisk together the butter, cocoa, water, milk, egg, flour and sugar. 

Also add baking soda, salt and vanilla. Beat until mostly smooth.

3. Bake in 8-inch pan for 30 minutes.


Chocolate ganache:
  • 7 ounces of dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

Directions:

1. Finely chop the chocolate and place in a bowl. Heat cream in a pot until gently simmering.

2. Whisk the cream into the bowl with the chocolate until the chocolate has melted and the cream is incorporated.
